  1. Once you use it you don't want to loose it. Review by Sistermaide

Before I knew that these types of things were made commercially, I would work for hours to make one myself. I used it to sand the edges of cabinet doors, plaques, and about anything that I need to sand without loosing details.
The disappointing part of my story is, that after hours of cutting, and punching sandpaper, with scissors and resharpening my punch several times, struggling with putting all these strips on a bolt, and double nutting it so that it wouldn't come loose in my drill press, I would find that I had to do it again in such a short time.

Then I tried these! WoW! ....dollar wise I had to think hard about it the first time, but once I used it, I am hooked. No longer do I spend most of a day every month building one. Now I assemble the parts that are already to go, and it lasts months! That's at least 4 times the life of the ones I built, and it does a smoother job, with less effort!

They leave such a nice finish, that I use them more often than I did my old home made ones, and they still last longer. (Posted on 8/14/13)

  2. works great Review by penguinhobbs

Have had these for a few years, as a Scout leader some of my Cubs have been to my shop to build their kubkars. They have used these sanding mops to sand the cars after cutting them out on the bandsaw, it works great and very little risk of them hurting themselves with the sanding mop. Even if the fingers hit the mop it will not hurt them. (Posted on 6/23/13)

  3. Uses of the sanding mop Review by william4willow

I use several of these sanding mops for doing many different jobs is the studio. I purchased my first set 10 years ago to do the finish sanding on the diamond willow cribbage boards, walking staff and cane, furniture legs I was making. I also rebuild of firearms and discovered that the mops also do a fantastic job doing the final work on refinishing old stocks. A couple of years ago, I was frustrated cleaning up an old rifle barrel that has spent many decades out in a building destroyed in a tornado. I had used several rust removers and could not get a good finish back. I have used the mop to clean up the stock and the motor/mop unit was sitting on the down draft sanding table. I figured I had nothing to loose as the owner had basically said, even it is just a wall hanger, she would be happy. Long story short, the barrel polished up to almost as new, and it has been restored to a vintage shooter.
The sanding mops have a place in EVERYONE"S work place. Even my wife uses hers doing stained glass & jewelry. Ours are both on individual motors and on motor driven shafts with multiple grits.
I make picture frames from salvaged oak, walnut, cherry, jatoba, maple, cedar and other wood from milling the molding to the finished product and every foot of molding goes under the 3 grits of mops on a shaft with a dust collector hook-up. Using the mop saves hours of hand rubbing/sanding and retains the profiles. (Posted on 6/22/13)
